Ive ordered an EGPU to mitigate the heat load. But that happens with just about any gaming on Mac. Ive experienced no throttling good FPS from what I can see (im not running anything that tells me the FPS all the time) The one issue I see is that, as expected, the machine runs hot - 180-190F.
Im running high settings in a windowed mode on a 4k monitor (yeah windowed, I havent gotten around to fiddling it to full screen)

"all the nope" I dont know for certain but perhaps Square removed the download for mac after I tried until they got the 64 bit working.Ī couple weeks ago I tried again and everything worked.

I guess that the application was still 32 bit because it wouldnt launch. I tried FF just after I had migrated to Catalina. purchased early 2019 (a few mths before the 16" arrived, dammit) i7 6 core, 16gb RAM and a Radeon Pro 560. I'll toss out my experience, maybe it will help.
